Resource governance and revenue assurance

Mining — undeclared extraction and traceability

Detecting undeclared extractive activity and reconciling it against officially produced, declared and exported volumes.

The gap between observable extractive activity and declared volumes is a direct loss of revenue for the state and a break in traceability for the downstream chain. We document that gap site by site and reconcile it against mining titles and production declarations.

Our work is framed by the due diligence standards applicable to minerals from high-risk areas, notably the OECD Guidance and regional certification mechanisms.

Intended for: Mines ministries, revenue authorities and mining cadastres — as well as downstream actors carrying due diligence obligations on mineral origin.
